Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman from the United States. Buss is the sole owner of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently acts as the association's president. Buss, a Californian native, grew up with an extremely wealthy background. Jerry Buss' father was an investor in real estate and later owned the Lakers along with several other companies in the field of sports. When her parents split in 1972 and she started to feel emotionally abandoned. Her family's business was started when she was 19 to become the general manager for the Los Angeles Strings tennis team. Then, she established the Los Angeles Blades pro roller hockey team. Before becoming vice president for the Lakers, she served as president of Great Western Forum. Buss inherited the Lakers through her father's estate in the year 2013. Five siblings of hers inherited it through a family trust. The Lakers named her president. Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also the co-owner of Women of Wrestling, a professional promotion of wrestling with its headquarters within Los Angeles.
