Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his distinctive blend that combines soul jazz R&B and R&B. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway to the Democratic National Convention to the European club and festival scenes. Sunshine has been born Denise White. She is originally from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her career in music by playing piano and singing in the church. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her musical path in the Atlanta's R&B entertainment scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was called Stalk You A house 12 released only in Japan and has since been remixed numerous times by producers and remains a mainstay of her live set. She also has contributed her singing on The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. She was then hired as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage musical Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007 she was approached by Tyler Perry to be the director of choral for the stage production. Sunshine was at the center of attention for all of the country during 4 performances per day during 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine then went on to be requested to sing with President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
